We have created a thriving vegetable garden at Rockridge. We grow crops year round in several above ground wooden boxes. We harvest in both the spring and the fall. We sell the vegetables to parents, students and teachers. This process requires a lot of dirt and we would like to reduce our need to buy dirt. In addition, both the garden and our foods program creates a lot of food waste. We have purchased a triple bin composter – http://www.cedarcreekenterprises.com/cedar-creek-model.html. It was delivered right at the end of the school year and set up in a caged area at the back of school property – within wheel barrow/walking distance our our garden. Our goal is to begin using the composter in September 2018.
